A Baltimore native is living her childhood dream as one of the newest Radio City Rockettes.
From a dance studio in Maryland to one of the most iconic stages in New York City, Sydney Kuhn is preparing to take the stage as part of a big holiday tradition.
She started dancing at just 2 years old, training at Spotlight City of Dance in Millersville. At 10, Bayer saw the “Christmas Spectacular” for the first time and instantly knew she wanted to be a Rockette.
“I looked to my parents and I was like, ‘That’s what I want to do when I grow up.’ So, I trained extremely intensely growing up with this goal in mind,” Kuhn told WBAL-TV 11 News. “I moved to New York in pursuit of becoming a Rockette. I auditioned three times to get here, and now, I’m just so honored to sit here and say that I made that dream come true.”
This year’s “Christmas Spectacular” features a new tap number along with camera technology to give audiences an up-close look at the famous kick lines.
The show opens on Nov. 4 and runs through Jan. 4.
